Trade in favour of ban on electronics in hand luggage
The travel industry is in favour of Britain following the US in banning electronics from hand luggage on aircraft – but only just.
A Travelmole poll shows 52% in favour, with 48% against.
Last week’s poll asked: Britain follows US and bans electronics from cabin baggage: Good or bad move?
The exact figures were 51.74% who voted ‘good’ and 48.26% who replied ‘bad’.
International airline body IATA is calling on governments to urgently find an alternative to the recently introduced ban on large electronics in cabin bags on certain flights from North Africa, the Middle East and Turkey, as reported by TravelMole last week.
