Travel 2 launches trade-only luxury brand
Travel 2 has launched a new, trade only, stand alone upmarket product, Simply Luxury By Travel 2, available to independent agents.
Simply Luxury is a collection of five-star hotels in long-haul destinations including the Caribbean, USA, the Middle East, Indian Ocean and Australasia, led by head of business development Tracy Hirsz, formerly of Gold Medal.
Agents will be offered support from a team of seven luxury specialists via a freephone number.
Travel 2 sales and marketing director Gordon McCreadie said: "We carried out extensive market research and trade focus groups to ascertain the level of interest in a dedicated luxury product and the feedback confirmed there is very much a gap in the market for independent agents to support a trade only luxury programme. "
He said 70% of product in the brochure is new to Travel 2. Hirsz added: “Due to the buying power of Travel 2 and our parent company, we are confident across the portfolio of World renowned luxury hotels coupled together with the largest range of national flagship carriers we will be able to deliver agents with a very competitive package price to take to market, as well as offering an attractive commission.
"In the luxury arena where our competitors are targeting the direct market our trade only status is therefore more crucial than ever and will give our agents the confidence to deal with an operator who won’t court their customers directly."
