Travel agency ‘one of UK’s fastest growing companies’
An online agency specialising in golf holidays is one of two travel companies to have made it onto a list of the fastest growing privately-owned British companies, published by the Sunday Times.
Your Golf Travel was ranked 26th in the Virgin Fast Track 100 League Table, ahead of Low Cost Travel Group, which was placed 50th.
Founded in 2005, London-based Your Golf Travel, which set up Golf for Heroes to allow injured soldiers to play for free, has seen its sales rise more than 99% a year from just £3.3m in 2007/8 to £26.4m in 2010/11.
Low Cost Travel Group has seen its sales rise by almost 70% a year since 2007/08 to £27.06m last year.
The company, which also featured in the league table in 2009, includes lowcostholidays.com, the consumer facing travel business, bed bank lowcostbeds.com, airport transfer company Resorthoppa.com, Ideal Cruising.com and a collaboration with easyJet to operate the easyJet Holidays brand.
“We are very excited to feature on the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 League Table for a second year,” said chief executive Paul Evans. “Given the tough economic outlook and the current gloom and doom in the travel industry, this is fantastic recognition for everyone who works for the company which continues to go from strength to strength.”
