Travel Counsellors acquires travel tech platform Planisto.
Travel Counsellors has acquired travel tech platform Planisto along with its development team.
This marks Travel Counsellors’ second ever acquisition in its nearly three-decade history.
It follows the successful deal for Holidaysplease in March 2023.
The move cements Travel Counsellors’ focus and investment in the premium travel market.
It had a record trading year with annual bookings reaching £933 million, which is 23% up on the previous year.
Planisto is a cloud-native tech platform which enables travel advisors to create and manage complex personalised itineraries for their customers.
Travel Counsellors recently revealed a £15 million tech investment for the upcoming year, with a particular emphasis on tailor-made itinerary software powered into its digital personal platform, Phenix.
The integration of Planisto’s software into Phenix will accelerate its tech development roadmap and build on these existing plans.
Many TCs based in Netherlands and Belgium have already used the Planisto software.
In addition to acquiring Planisto’s platform and IP, the deal includes the integration of Planisto’s developers into Travel Counsellors.
Steve Byrne, CEO of Travel Counsellors, said: “We are delighted to have acquired such a highly regarded technology platform in Planisto – which has been on our radar for some time.”
“This acquisition perfectly aligns with our vision.”
