Travel firm reveals booking trends for business travel savings
Travel Leaders reported Q1 booking data for 2014, revealing big cost savings for domestic business travelers who book in advance.
Travel Leaders says business travelers booking airline tickets 14-20 days before departure save up to 33% compared to those who book less than one week before.
Additionally, an average 25% saving can be had for travelers reserving a seat 7-13 days ahead.
Travel Leaders uses a smart data approach to recommend how travelers can be more cost effective with their travel expenses, according to Travel Leaders Corporate president David Holyoke.
"We continually monitor the trends for significant cost savings within the 7-13 and 14-20 day booking windows and consult our clients accordingly," Holyoke said.
Travel Leaders Corporate also released data showing the average length of a business trip in the US is two nights at a typical cost of $970 per trip.
It also said average hotel room rates rose 2% compared to the previous quarter.
