There were mixed fortunes for travel and tourism stocks yesterday as London’s equity markets failed to make any serious headway. The FTSE 100 index fell back 5.3 points to close at 4456.1, while the broader-based FTSE 250 gained a modest 22.8 points to end the day at 6038.9. Probably the best performer of the day was P&O, whose shares rose 9.25p to 253.75p after one broker said the shares were under-performing in terms of the total market.
