There were few significant movements among travel and tourism shares yesterday. The best performers were British Airways and BAA, the former gaining 9.75p to close at 284.75p and the latter jumping 13p to 506p after the company reported its busiest-ever December. The FTSE 100 index closed 9.5 points down at 4440.1 – its third day of falls in succession – while the FTSE 250 did better, adding 43.2 points to end the day at 5963.6.
