Travel tool to boost tourism: ordinary credit cards

With US travel set to grow by two percent this year, backers of gift cards say it is a new way to boost tourism business.

“With such an increase in travel activity people within the travel industry need to find a way to differentiate themselves from the competition. Some cities and agencies have started giving out custom branded VISA incentive cards,” says a press release.

Cardlab specializes in customizable VISA gift cards that can feature attractions, logos or other images.

Prepaid incentive cards are as good as cash and can be used anywhere Visa Debit cards are accepted around the world; in restaurants, stores or online,” said David Jones, CEO of CardLab, Inc. He added:

“Recipients love the freedom of being able to choose where to spend their rewards, and businesses that use prepaid cards as incentives benefit from having their brand displayed whenever and wherever the card is used. It really is a win-win for both the giver and receiver.”

He says the cards are an “easy, affordable and fast way” to provide business incentives that have wide appeal.

Cards can come in any amount, say from US$5 to several hundred dollars. There is no minimum order and no setup fees.
