TravelMole and Acxiom launch consumer marketing partnership
TravelMole, in a special preferred partnership with Acxiom Corp., has launched a consumer acquisition e-mail marketing program for the travel and tourism industry.
Acxiom’s double opt-in consumer e-mail database contains 135 million US consumers and 73 million households, representing over 50 percent of the US population. Consumers are profiled by past behavior and information such as such as demographics, lifestyle, behavioral and specific travel interests.
This enormous database provides a scientific and accurate means for travel marketers to develop the appropriate target audiences and drive relevant client and prospect campaigns across email, postal mail, social media and mobile media formats, say participants in the venture.
Travel industry leaders forecast that business will return focus and budget allocation to new customer acquisition in 2011. E-mail marketing has become a primary channel of choice for leading brands; however, working with a reputable partner is far more important in e-mail than in other channels, according to a press release announcing the move
Said Charles Kao, publisher of TravelMole:
“Acxiom is one of the direct marketing industry’s proven full-service providers, handling work across the globe for large companies, especially in the financial services field. TravelMole, with our long experience in travel trade and consumer advertising, adds distinct expertise in travel marketing. A TravelMole/Acxiom partnership will deliver outstanding and consistent results to the travel industry. We believe that over time travel marketers will turn to the TravelMole/Acxiom group for economic, efficient and accurate acquisition email marketing.”
TravelMole will offer the travel industry three distinct services:
• Customized b2c marketing campaigns to specific target audiences
• Publication of a new consumer travel newswire called “Travel Secrets”
• The ability to “clean up” and append existing in-house databases, adding critical information and/or segmenting by specific demographic, financial and behavioral attributes
Published weekly, the Travel Secrets™ newswire will offer travel deals, tips, sweepstakes and booking advice to 5 million high-value USA consumers — profiled by income, age, geography, purchasing habits, interests, hobbies and other travel related attributes.
Acxiom Corporation is a public company with 7,000 employees worldwide. Acxiom supplies data, consumer profiling and intelligence to major corporations including American Express, major banks, insurance and financial industry clients.
