Travelocity UK gets new head
Travelocity has found a new UK managing director, Robert Booth. He takes over from former managing director, Andrew Nicholson, who left the company some months ago. Mr Booth was integral in the launch of Travelocity.co.uk when it was launched by Travelocity Europe in 1998. He has held various positions at the company including head of Travelocity Europe’s product development and marketing teams and he worked for Sabre in the past. He will report to chief executive, Dirk Hauke. Commenting on his new role Mr Booth said: “The potential for Travelocity UK is overwhelming, this is a critical time for us as we continue to build on our leading position in the UK travel market.” The online agent hinted at a UK appointment last week when Travelocity.com announced its new chief executive, Michelle Peluso.
