Travelport appoints new chief commercial officer
Travel technology supplier Travelport is to replace chief commercial officer Armin Meier with its current chief operating officer Kurt Ekert.
The move follows Meier’s decision to leave the travel industry to pursue a new business venture.
Ekert will take the position in designate on June 1, working alongside Meier during a transition period.
Travelport’s deputy CEO Gordon Wilson said: “I’m delighted that we are able to call upon an executive of Kurt’s calibre to take up the reins as our chief commercial officer designate. Kurt has led both business-to-business and consumer-facing operations throughout his 14-year career in the travel industry, combining strong strategic insight with a hands-on, make it happen approach. It’s great to have him on the team.”
