Travelport teams up with Groupize for small group booking tool

Sunday, 19 Jul, 2016 0
Travel tech platform Travelport, alongside Groupize, hope to plug the gap for small group managed travel.

A new cloud-based mobile booking tool aims to help travel management companies secure business for small groups of under 25 hotel rooms or less than 50 people which traditionally bypass TMCs.

The Groupize tool has integrated within Travelport’s platform which offers preferred hotels, preferential rates, competing bids, approval tracking and online bookings, which cuts down on time spent manually procuring hotel rooms.

"Automating small group bookings has been a top request from the travel agency community," a statement from Travelport’s global head of hospitality sales Tracie Carillo said.

"The ability to easily integrate group bookings into the workflow will dramatically increase revenue, with minimal effort."

Groupize CEO Charles de Gaspe Beaubien said: "Most companies do not have visibility into the frequency or costs associated with this category of travel. Groupize’s solution simplifies the entire multi-room booking process from start to finish, maximizing efficiencies, savings, data and compliance."
