Travelport’s Agent of the Future named
Rajina Almeida from Bankstown TAFE in New South Wales has been recognised as Australasia’s most outstanding travel and tourism student from more than 60 tertiary colleges in Australia and New Zealand that offer Galileo GDS courses.
She was nominated by her teacher, Fiona Cox.
Travelport’s Agent of the Future programme encourages students to reach high standards of excellence in their studies.
There were 26 nominations this year and three finalists were selected by a judging panel appointed by Travelport.
Alex Fitzpatrick, general manager, Travelport Pacific said, "It is great to see the depth of talent among today’s students and their passion for the travel industry."
Also announced was the Instructor of the Year, Paula Howard from William Angliss Institute, Victoria, who was one of 19 educators nominated by her students.
Both award winners will receive return airfares for two to Hamilton Island and five night’s accommodation at Hamilton Island Palm Bungalows.
