TravelRepublic.co.uk says it will pledge £25,000 to this year’s Children In Need appeal if it can reach the target number of 100,000 fans on Facebook in the next five weeks.
People wanting to support the pledge should go to www.facebook.com/travelrepublic and click “like” at the top of the page. Then each user can donate 25p of TravelRepublic’s money to the fund.
Managing director Paul Furner said: “We’re very keen to make this donation to a truly worthwhile cause and hope that this campaign will capture the imagination of our customers and the wider Facebook community.”
Furner added: “This means we have just five weeks, until Friday November 19, the night of the Children In Need appeal, to galvanise the UK’s 24 million Facebook users into action. I am confident that if we can encourage people to join in and tell their friends, we’ll do it."
