Updated version of IBE travel technology and XML API Internet Booking Solution is launched
TravelStoreMaker.com, a leading Internet Booking Engine provider, has launched the ability to search multiple GDS’s and country specific SID’s simultaneously searching market rates in various countries and provide combination low cost and published one way fares sorted by price low to high.
An outbound flight could be low cost and the return a traditional carrier, outbound one low cost carrier and return a different low cost carrier, or outbound a published carrier and return a different published carrier which would not have agreements between those published GDS carriers and the option would not show up in a GDS. Included in the results could be a GDS SID in one country and a different GDS SID in another country providing market fares and results not being displayed in specific markets.
This is very powerful as traditional airlines have changed their pricing structure to compete with low cost carriers and have abolished roundtrip fare structure in many markets and two one way fares is what makes the new roundtrip pricing. In the case of two published one way fares on separate airlines, if the airlines do not have an agreement then the combination is not shown in the GDS because a single PNR cannot be booked. If the two one way published fares are selected the IBE creates two PNR’s. Searching for one way fares on published and low cost carriers and providing the traveler a combination of all the various options is extremely time consuming for an agent and not a service they would provide to end users.”
