Traveltek promotes Orr amid growth plans
Kirsty Orr has been promoted by Traveltek to the newly created role of deputy managing director.
She has been with the Glasgow-based technology firm for a year and was most recently operations director. Orr continues to report to managing director Kenny Picken.
Traveltek is aiming to quadruple the size of its business this year, from £150 million in customers’ transactions in 2007 to more than £600 million this year.
Picken said: “We are firmly already on target to reach this ambitious target after seeing dynamic packaging transactions increase by more than 350% in the first four months of 2008.
“This coupled with the launch of iBos, our fully integrated web-based agency management and selling system, at the beginning of the year, means that Traveltek is on course to significantly grow its marketshare in 2008.”
He added:”Kirsty’s new role is a key element of our aggressive growth plan over the next weeks, months and years.
“Due to increasing pressures on my time it’s become imperative to have another senior person within the business who can take on the day-to-day running of the teams in our multiple locations.
“Her existing role was developing in this direction naturally, so we made the position formal at our last board meeting.”
