Travelzest to relaunch Tapestry
Travelzest has acquired the assets of Tapestry Holidays and is to relaunch the operator under the Tapestry Collection name.
Turkey and eastern Mediterranean specialist Tapestry folded in the summer with founder Nick Wrightman admitting a number of problems which led to the collapse.
In an emotional exclusive interview with Travelmole in the wake of the failure, Wrightman said the operator was brought down by the actions of certain people, his own arrogance and dire market conditions.
According to the Travelzest website, the group is to soon launch a “revitalised brand” consisting of the best of the Tapestry range, initially featuring Turkey and Crete.
A Tapestry Collection 2007-08 programme will feature hotels, apartments and villas.
“Following overwhelming feedback from Tapestry’s guests, Travelzest has worked tirelessly with key member of the Tapestry team to safeguard the essence of this special business,” the website says.
“This new partnership provides robust financial support while leaving the original team to do what they do best – create memorable holidays with award-winning personal service.”
Travelzest, formed by former TUI UK managing director Chris Mottershead in 1995, brings Tapestry Collection alongside other group brands such as VFB Holidays, Holiday Express, Best of Morocco, Peng Travel, and Faraway Holidays.
