Tributes paid to former ABTA chief executive
Tributes have been paid to former ABTA chief executive Ian Reynolds who has died after a short illness.
Reynolds led ABTA for 11 years until 2005.
Until recently he was also chairman of the Family Holiday Association.
Current ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer said Reynolds "laid the foundations for the successful Association that ABTA is today".
He added: "Everyone who worked with Ian will remember his professionalism, fairness and great sense of humour. He remained very supportive of ABTA after his departure, and he will be much missed by us all."
FHA director John McDonald said: "Ian Reynolds was a highly-valued trustee at the charity and served as chairman until he stepped down recently. Our sadness at Ian’s untimely passing is softened by having benefited from the calm, professional leadership of a kind and gentle man.
"Our condolences go to Gill, his wife, and his two daughters."
After leaving ABTA, Reynoldsheld several roles, including, most recently, chairman of Citybond Holdings and chair of Kingston Hospital NHS Trust.
