TripIt Pro app shows airport security wait times in real time
SAP Concur’s travel planning app TripIt plans to take one of the uncertainties out of business travel.
The TripIt Pro tool now offers subscribers real time alerts on TSA screening wait times at select airports.
TripIt says users can now see exactly when they should set off for the airport, how long it will take to get through security once they are there, and how to get to the relevant gate, all within the TripIt app.
To begin with, TSA security wait time data is available for travelers at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Denver, Orlando International and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
It sends an alert three hours before flight departure showing the current wait times so customers can better plan ahead and then can access real-time updates during their trip to the airport.
The in-app airport map shows travelers what amenities are located close to each security checkpoint and even which checkpoint has the shortest line.
"By adding security wait times into TripIt Pro, TripIt now gives you everything you need to plan your next trip to the airport and quickly navigate your way around once you arrive," the company said in a blog post on its website.
