Triton conference special: Members back merger
A new survey commissioned by Triton has added weight to the proposal of a full merger of Global, Worldchoice and Advantage consortiums.
In the study, some 55% of members said they backed a merger. Over a third of those asked, said Triton had had a positive effect on commissions and the majority thought independents were now more important than before the trio joined forces.
Conference moderator Alastair Stewart opened the event with a rallying call to members after details of the survey were revealed.
“Last year was about riding the change,” he said. “But Triton needs to progress, to become the best, and that´s why the title of the conference is Evolution.”
The survey also found that 90% of members wanted separate retail brands for the consortia and that Triton should be the tour operator brand.
