Truly cheap hotel rooms

Monday, 22 Sep, 2009 0

The Tod Motor Hotel in Las Vegas ($19) and El Panchan in Palenque, Mexico ($6) are among TripAdvisor’s new list of the top ten international hotels costing under $19 a night.

Others include:

Hotel Lion d’Or in Buenos Aires, Argentina ($14); Mandalay Inn in Siem Reap ($13); Shiva Guest House in Kathmandu, Nepal ($9); Ani Hotel in Kas Turkey ($14); Luna’s Castle Hostel in Panama City ($12); Venus Hotel in Luxor, Egypt ($9); Diaa Hoang Kim Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam ($12); and the Bling Bling Hotel in Krakow, Poland ($16).

What does this all mean?

TripAdvisor.com, which relies on user-generated reviews, asked its members to name not only the cheapest, but also the most comfortable lodgings around the world — for the price.

Members citing the top ten said they were secure and offered friendly service as well as some perks such as free Internet access and in-room art.
