Tsunami kills more than 200 and injures hundreds more in Indonesia

More than 200 people have been killed and hundreds more injured after a tsunami hit coastal towns on Indonesia’s Sunda Strait.

The tsunami is thought to have been caused by undersea landslides from the Anak Krakatau volcano but there was no warning.

It hit several popular tourist resorts, including the Tanjung Lesung beach resort in the west of Java island.

Blocked roads are hampering rescue efforts. The disaster management agency has warned people to stay away from the area due to fears of another tsunami.

Four members of a popular Indonesian rock band, Seventeen, were killed. They were swept away as they performed at a concert near the beach.
