TTG editor poached by rival
Travel Trade Gazette editor Lucy Huxley has been lured to join rival Travel Weekly as group editor.
The switch, believed to be the first time an editor has moved between the two print travel trade weekly titles, follows former Holiday Autos owner Clive Jacobs aquiring Travel Weekly in the UK from publishing house Reed Business Information.
Huxley is due to start her new role in January as the TW Group moves to new offices in London’s Victoria.
She follows in the footsteps of her father Trevor Harding who moved from being publisher of TTG to take over the commercial reins at bitter rival Travel Weekly around two decades ago.
No announcement has yet been made about a seccessor to Huxley at TTG.
But industry sources suggested that the appointment of Huxley, who moved up through the editorial ranks at TTG following a period working in local newspapers, would just be the start of strategic changes at both publications.
