Twelve crew members on a TUI Cruises ship in Greece have now tested negative for Covid-19 after initially testing positive.

The 12 crew members of the Mein Schiff 6 ship tested positive after random testing of 150 crew, according to the Greek Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy.

The ship is carrying 922 passengers, and all guests were required to have negative tests before embarking.

"On Monday we received positive test results from 12 crew members of Mein Schiff 6 from an external laboratory. None of the 12 crew members has any symptoms," a TUI spokesperson said.

The ship docked at Piraeus today and Health Ministry personnel boarded to conduct further testing.

No-one is being allowed off the ship.

The ship had departed from Heraklion in Crete on Sunday.

"Thanks to the health measures in place and the vessel cleaning rules, there is no reason of concern for visitors and crew members," TUI added.

Some tests are still awaiting results and if no cases are confirmed, the ship will continue to Corfu as scheduled.
