TUI/First Choice seek merger clearance
The European Commission willd ecide by May 16 whether the planned TUI/First Choice merger needs to be probed on competition grounds.
The two companies hope to complete the deal in the third quarter of the year of the commission gives the thumbs up.
TUI and First Choice announced yesteday that they had delivered notificiation of the merger to the commission on April 4.
The commission has to also decide whether the Thomas Cook/MyTravel merger requires investigation.
