TUI hails strong UK bookings
TUI Group has hailed a resilient UK market, with summer bookings leading other markets.
The tour operator group also cities the UK ahead of the pack for the upcoming winter season.
Globally, booking volumes are down 2% but the UK is up by 1%.
The UK holiday programme for summer is nearly 90% sold, it said.
Additionally, about one-third is sold for the winter season
TUI reported a record high Q3, with earnings up by more than one-third at €321 million on total revenues of €6.2bn.
The Hotels & Resorts and Cruises segments have seen record sales.
TUI has now raised its full year profit guidance to almost €1.3 billion.
“We are seeing strong growth and raised our targets for the full year. We are intensively driving forward the transformation of the traditional tour operator business across all source markets,” said TUI Group CEO Sebastian Ebel.
“Our strategy is paying off. We are benefiting from our integrated and diversified business model and managed to reduce the Group’s seasonality further.
