Turkey and Thailand slip down top destination list

The United Arab Emirates has become one of the top three destination for UK travellers based on currency orders.

It pushed the Turkish Lira off third place, which fell to 6th.

The Euro remained the most popular in the first quarter of 2015, with the US dollar in second place.

Fourth place was the South African Rand based on data from travel money provider ICE.

The Thai Baht is now bottom of the top ten table having been 7th at the same time last year.

"Our analysis shows a distinct shift in destinations in and out of favour in the first Quarter of the year" said Koko Sarkari, COO of ICE.  that’s free of overseas charges, travellers can take advantage of convenient payment options and competitive rates of exchange."
