Two injured after toddler fires gun in hotel room
A 19-year-old man is facing multiple charges after his 3-year-old brother picked up his gun and fired, injuring both in a Charlotte hotel room.
The two were staying in a north Charlotte hotel when the toddler picked up Davione Marquis Robinson’s firearm and accidently pulled the trigger, police said.
Both suffered ‘non-life threatening graze wounds.’
The two brothers were staying at the Budget Inn Hotel in Charlotte.
Marquis Robinson was charged with felony child abuse and storing a firearm in a manner accessible to a minor.
He was also booked on cocaine possession and was later freed on $3,000 bail.
The 3-year-old had found the unsecured firearm in the room and began playing with it, and ‘accidentally fired the weapon,’ Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
