Two injured as American Airlines flight diverted
Two people were injured after an American Airlines flight bound for Dallas/Fort Worth was rocked by severe weather over Texas.
The American Eagle flight operated by Mesa Airlines was diverted to Austin and a flight attendant and a passenger were taken to a local hospital.
Neither was seriously injured and were later released.
Flight 5781 from San Luis Potosí was one of dozens of American Airlines flights diverted from Dallas due to heavy storms.
It also canceled about 100 flights.
"During the diversion to Austin, the flight encountered turbulence. The Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft landed safely and taxied to the gate," American said.
All the diverted passengers were accommodated in hotels before continuing to DFW the following morning.
