Tying the knot – all at sea
SYDNEY – Classic ocean liner Athena is lining up to be the Love Boat in Australia.
Classic International Cruises has released wedding and vow packages for its summer season.
Once a transatlantic liner and sporting its own chapel, the yacht-like Athena will offer traditional cruise holidays from Fremantle and Adelaide from December 2009 to March 2010.
“A cruise is one of the most romantic holidays you can have and bringing along your friends and relatives to share your wedding or renewal of vows at sea provides a very special and memorable experience,†said Classic International Cruises managing director Grant Hunter.
The wedding, same-sex commitment and renewal of vows packages can be used on any of the 16 cruises from 2-35 nights that Athena will offer from Western Australia and South Australia next summer, including a special four-night Valentine’s cruise, sailing from Fremantle on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2010.
Fares start at $850 per person, twin-share.
The new wedding deals are available from $250 per package, while the renewal of vow packages are priced from $125.
Discounts for group bookings are also available for relatives and friends joining the couple on the cruise.
