Typhoon hits China
Travel agents with clients visiting China are being urged to contact their airlines or tour operators as flights may have been affected by Typhoon Chanthu which hit the south of the country this week.
It follows in the wake of Typhoon Conson, which skirted the holiday island of Hainan last week.
The Foreign Office said in a statement on its website: "Anyone who is planning to travel to China should check with their air carrier or tour operator as flights may be affected."
Guangdong and Hainan provinces have been the worst hit, but there has also been severe flooding in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hubei, Anhui and Yunnan provinces.
