UK airfares price surge
UK airfares are rising at their fastest ever rate, according to the Office for National Statistics.
ONS data showed airfares increased 44.1% in December from a year earlier.
It was the largest year-on-year increase since it started recording UK airfares data in 1989.
It was a sharp rise from the 24.3% recorded in November.
Airlines have warned ultra-low cost flying is coming to an end as demand remains high
