UK border guards go on charm offensive
Britain’s border guards have apparently been ordered to give passengers arriving in the UK a warm welcome during the Olympics.
The Border Force’s outgoing head Brian Moore has told staff to greet those arriving in time for the start of the Games with friendly words such as "welcome to Britain" and "have a nice holiday", said the Daily Telegraph.
Given the long queues some passengers arriving at Heathrow have been subjected to in recent weeks, "sorry for the delay" might be appropriate.
