UK holidaymakers leave it late
Domestic holidaymakers are booking later than ever to try to take advantage of last minute offers and good weather.
UK parks operator Hoseasons said since July 25, the start of the school holidays in England and Wales, bookings for the parks have risen by over 34% compared with sales in the same period last year.
“Increasingly consumers are booking time off work and waiting until the 11th hour to decide where to go in July and August,” said Hoseasons operating director Pali Badwal.
“There is a long-term trend towards later booking and there are clearly economic factors at play this year as holidaymakers try to make their budgets stretch even further.
“We have changed our marketing programmes in recent years to reflect this.”
