UK holidaymakers urged to leave Sharm by Tuesday
Tourists who are still in Sharm el Sheikh are being told to fly back by Tuesday (November 17) or make their own arrangements.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said those who choose to remain in the Red Sea resort after Tuesday may have to travel with an airline to which extra security measures do not apply.
"You should make your own decisions about the risk based on the information in our travel advice," it said.
Flights to and from the UK to Sharm el Sheikh were suspended by the UK Government on November 4 over fears a bomb, smuggled into the luggage hold, had brought down the Russian A321 which crashed shortly after take-off from Sharm on October 31, killing all 224 people on board.
"If you’re visiting Sharm el Sheikh now, you should contact your airline or travel company and make arrangements to leave by Tuesday 17 November at the latest," said the FCO.
EasyJet sais its planned to bring all of its customers in Sharm back to the UK on Saturday but is putting on three further flights on Tuesday for any holidaymakers who were due to fly back to the UK or Italy after November 14.
Monarch will also operate its last flights on Tuesday. It has just extended the cancellation of its Sharm flights to December 19.
Thomas Cook said it would have all its customers home by the end of last week.
