UK inbound operator buys US travel firm
Inbound tour operator Discover Travel & Tours has bought US tour operator In Quest of the Classics.
The San Diego based operator, IQOTC, headed up by Brian Mundy, offers luxury tailormade tours of Britain and Europe.~
"This strategic move dramatically strengthens our sales presence in world’s leading travel market," said Andrew Grieve, managing director of Worcester based Discover Travel & Tours.
"We are experiencing solid growth in the upscale sector for family and special interest group travel throughout Britain and Europe from the US market and this move clearly marks our intent to grow our business further in this rewarding area."
All IQOTC staff based in San Diego and London are being retained.
Discover Travel and Tours was established by Andrew Grieve in 1977 and employs 35 staff in its Worcester, London, Scotland and US offices, selling UK and European holidays around the world.
IQOTC was set up in 1984.
