UK mass-distribution Green Travel Guide for 2007
A new green travel guide will be published for the first time and be available free of charge at UK tourist information centres, cultural outlets and online from spring ’07.
Ecoescape will be published by a UK-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to communicating sustainable tourism.
The guide will feature places to eat and stay, ways to travel and things to do which are cleaner and sustainable.
Ecoescape’s aim is to make sustainable tourism in the UK using contemporary design, friendly print processes and expert input notably from leading eco-travel writer, Richard Hammond (Guardian, Alistair Sawday). Ecoescape will be distributed around the UK in spring 2007 at tourist information centres, music festivals, cafes and bars in key cultural quarters and online.
The guide will appeal to pro-active consumers looking for exciting but rewarding travel experiences without contributing to the damaging impact of carbon emissions on the environment.
There will also be a significant PR and educational awareness campaign which will target new audiences for green consumerism and create a platform to share ideas and experiences.
Naturally, the guide will be printed on eco-friendly paper and will use carbon neutral processes and soy-based inks.
Ecoescape has received the support of the Lottery Fund and is now looking for organisations seeking a platform for their sustainable messages to reach new audiences.
