United Airlines appoints Marriott executive as new global sales SVP
United Airlines has appointed former Marriott sales executive Doreen Burse as the carrier’s new global sales chief.
Burse takes over in March and was Marriott’s Vice President of Global Sales for the US and Canada.
She spent more than 30 years at the hotel group.
"In 2021, our sales organization will be one of the most pivotal contributors to United’s recovery as we lay the groundwork for the company’s future success," said United Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella.
Her role is to expand existing sales programs and build new sales partnerships as well as driving overall revenue.
Burse effectively takes over from previous worldwide sales chief Jake Cefolia, who mysteriously disappeared near woodland in the Chicago suburbs several months ago.
There has been no sightings since he went missing in August.
Local police said Cefolia was under criminal investigation at the time of the disappearance.
