United Airlines ground stop lifted after tech outage
The FAA has lifted a ground stop on United Airlines after an IT glitch grounded flights.
The airline cited a ‘tech issue’ causing cancelations at major airports.
It said it was resolved Wednesday night but ‘residue delays’ are expected.
“Our team is working to restore our normal operations,” the airline said.
The ground stop was across the country, including at major hubs in Chicago, San Francisco, Houston and Newark.
The airline hasn’t disclosed what the main issue was.
According to the airline it affected only mainline services while United’s regional flights were unaffected.
“We expect additional flight delays as we work through this issue. We’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations.”
