United Airlines launching Chicago-Rome flights for summer
United Airlines will launch new summer-season flights to Rome from its Chicago hub at O’Hare International starting next May.
Beginning May 16, the service to Leonard da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport will operate five-times a week through June 3, then daily from June 4 to August 17, and six-times a week from August 18 through September 23, 2015.
United has been serving Italy since 1997 and the new Rome flights will supplement its recently announced summer flight schedule between Newark Liberty and Venice which will operate during the same dates.
United also flies seasonally to Rome from Newark and Washington Dulles.
"United operates more nonstop trans-Atlantic service from Chicago O’Hare than any other airline, and these new flights to Rome are a great addition to our route network," said Brian Znotins, United’s vice president of network.
"The flights have been conveniently timed to connect at our O’Hare hub to destinations throughout the Americas, and will offer United’s customers additional convenient options for travel to Italy this summer."
