United Airlines offering boarding passes for partner airline flights
United Airlines passengers can now access boarding passes for its airline partners direct in United’s app.
A new app upgrade offers boarding passes to United flyers when connecting to 19 airline partners, a first for a US airline.
It is available for customers flying with United and then making an onward connection with another airline.
These include Air New Zealand, EVA Airways, THAI Airways, Aegean Airlines, Azul Brazilian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa.
Combined, it is able to connect flyers to about 1,300 destinations around the world, United says.
"Our partnerships with Star Alliance carriers and other partner airlines can take our customers to over a thousand destinations around the world, and we’re excited to be the first U.S. carrier to provide customers with this convenience when connecting to partners," said Kate Gebo, chief customer officer at United.
Boarding passes for more partners will be added in the near future, the airline said.
