United launching Denver-Costa Rica flights
United Airlines will begin nonstop weekend flights from Denver to two Costa Rica destinations this winter.
The seasonal flights are scheduled to take off from Denver to Liberia and to San Jose from December 18 through April 30, 2016.
"These new flights will boost the tourism sector throughout the country, but they also will expand opportunities for Costa Ricans to fly to this major U.S. destination," said Costa Rica Tourism Minister Mauricio Ventura.
The new routes will line up in direct competition with Southwest Airlines, which begins flying to both Costa Rican airports in November.
Low cost carrier Frontier Airlines also flies weekly to Liberia out of DIA.
