US hotels has most WiFi
Hotels and resorts now offer more WiFi access than any other location. And the US has the most hotels and resorts offering the service.
That data came from JiWire, a leading provider of WiFi content.
The company said both leisure and business travelers have become accustomed to having the service available while on the road.
Said Kevin McKEnzie, CEO of JiWire:
“Hotels and resorts understand that by offering WiFi as an amenity, they often gain a competitive advantage over those that don’t.”
A total of 16,674 hotels and resorts now offer WiFi, far outreaching 9,718 restaurants that have the capability.
The US has more than 5,000 hotel and resort locations, giving it the most locations of any country, followed by Germany and France. California has the most hotels with access, followed by Texas and Florida.
A WiFi Hotspot is generally defined as a physical address where people can connect to a public wireless network.
