US military drops travel ban to London
Embarrassed American military officials yesterday cancelled its ban on US military personnel and families to visit London after last Thursday’s bombings.
The ban issued last Friday met with a lot of criticism while the United Kingdom and London officials were urging its citizens to ‘carry on as normal’ and not permit the terrorists to change their lives.
Sir Ian Blair, the Metropolitan police commissioner, was “disappointed” by a decision that embarrassed America after President George W Bush’s promise that “in this difficult hour, the people of Britain can know the American people stand with you”.
