Vacation home…at sea?
The $750 million Magellan, described as one of the most luxurious and exclusive residential cruise ships ever conceived, has 300 ports-of-call and travels to 150 countries.
“The Magellan Club was created for those who want to travel the world in the most luxurious surroundings without the worries and expense of managing a full-time vacation home,” said Randall B. Jackson, CEO and President of Residential Cruise Line, LLC.
Couples or families can be accommodated with up to four bedrooms.
Mr Jackson says a club membership program offers owners a “truly personalized two-week vacation to any of the ship’s destinations for 20 years.”
He says the club program is unique because The Magellan Club membership is fully transferable to a third party after the inaugural sailing of the ship. With holiday time periods in great demand, holiday scheduling will be on first-come, first-served basis.
Scheduling opens 12 months prior to sailing with no changes permitted 60 days prior to sailing. Arrivals to the ship are on Sundays with departures from the ship on Saturdays.
The Club Membership fee is transferable to future fractional or full ownership purchases on the Magellan dependent on availability.
The on-board amenities include a fully retractable marina, a world-class Aqua spa and a 450-seat broadcast theatre featuring Broadway-quality entertainment. Residences are said to “offer unparalleled views of the sea and all of the creature comforts that can be found in land-based, multi-million dollar homes.”
The ship also has custom wood cabinetry, luxurious stone surfaces, gourmet-quality appliances, lavish baths and general luxurious living quarters complemented with the latest technological devices.
One bed-room units are priced from the $90s.
