P&O Cruises’ newest ship Ventura has achieved the top passenger rating of any vessel in the company’s six-strong fleet.
The line’s largest ship has seen “significant improvements” and is now coming out top in customer satisfaction questionnaires, according to managing director Carol Marlow.
Quoting feedback from a 14-night Mediterranean cruise in the peak month of August when there were 700 children on board with their families, she described Ventura as being “in a class of her own”.
The satisfaction score for dining across all restaurants was more than 99% on the cruise.
Marlow said the freedom dining concept, giving passengers the opportunity to eat at different times, was now working well.
Those saying they would be likely to return to cruise again with the line was in the “high 90’s” with nearly 30% saying they would choose to cruise on Ventura again.
Marlow conceded that the company faced “challenges” with Ventura last year as the biggest vessel P&O Cruises has ever introduced.
But Ventura’s family-friendly concept has now settled in during its second year in service with improving customer satisfaction scores.
“These are not just average good scores but the best in the fleet,” said Marlow, who was on board for the early part of the itinerary last month.
“There have been improved scores throughout the year. This is the icing on the cake.
“If we were seeing scores in the 90’s we would be happy but when they are in the late 90’s we are very happy.”
She added: "In a tough time when value and enjoyment is so important, to see people enjoying themselves to this level has prompted me to want to talk about it."
