VietJet launching New Delhi flights
Vietnamese budget carrier Vietjet is spreading its wings to India.
It will serve New Delhi from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, starting from December.
Ho Chi Minh City-New Delhi service will operate four days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, starting from December 6.
The following day, HCMC service takes off and will offer flights on the other three days each week.
It becomes the first Vietnamese carrier to serve the Indian capital.
India’s biggest budget carrier Indigo has already announced the launch of flights to HCMC from Kolkata starting this autumn, and the now defunct Jet Airways used to serve HCMC for a short time about five years ago.
VietJet had been trying to launch flights to India for the past two years and now seems to have secured all necessary approvals.
