Vietjet launching Taiwan flights from Da Nang
Vietnam’s biggest budget carrier Vietjet will launch new flights linking Da Nang with Taiwan in time for the festive season.
It will operate daily flights between Taoyuan and Da Nang on new Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft starting December 19.
Vietjet has been flying to Taiwan for several years and currently serves seven routes from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung.
"The new Danang to Taipei route is part of plans to expand Vietjet’s flight network, bringing more flying opportunities for residents and travellers," said Jay Lingeswara, director of international sales and distribution at Vietjet.
Lingeswara said there is a current market of about 3,000 passengers flying daily between Vietnam and Taiwan.
Vietjet will face competition on the Da Nang-Taoyuan route from EVA Airways which launches daily flights two days later.
