Vietjet to enter China market
Low cost airline Vietjet plans to launch its first flights to China, connecting cities such as Kunming and Hangzhou with Vietnam’s tourist destinations Nha Trang and Danang.
The airline made an announcement without giving specific details on dates or routes, but is continuing discussions with aviation authorities in both countries.
Vietjet business development director Desmond Lin said routes would primarily serve popular Vietnamese beach destinations.
"Demand for travel for business, family visits and reunions between Vietnam and China is growing all the time. To satisfy the needs from our passengers, Vietjet is ready to provide our leading aviation services on key international routes," he said.
Lin also said the airline is looking at further business expansion by attracting partners in "infrastructure, airports, aircraft maintenance, training and component manufacturing in Vietnam."
