Vietnam to extend tourist visas
Vietnam will grant longer tourist visas to boost its sluggish tourism recovery.
The government will propose to the National Assembly to extend the duration of e-visas.
It wants the current 30 days to be extended to a maximum of three months.
The Government Office said the e-visa would be be valid for single or multiple entry.
Currently this tourist visa is for single-entry and available to nationals of 80 countries.
The government wants to expand it to more countries.
Vietnam also has visa waivers for a limited number of countries allowing stays of up to 15 days.
Vietnam opened borders a year ago but the tourism recovery has been slow.
It only received 3.6 million foreign tourists last year.
